My creative spark began at the age of two when I first picked up a piece of chalk and has continued to burn bright to this day. My natural affinity for understanding how things worked began years before I discovered it as a formal discipline, when I found myself taking apart toys and various gadgets at home, fascinated by how our ordinary world is constructed and functions, and sometimes unable to reassemble much to my parents' dismay.
These two aspects of my passions collided when I was introduced to the world of design at the University of Michigan's School of Art and Design by my late mentor, Shaun Jackson, during a first-year introductory lecture. That was the moment I knew that design had been my calling all along.
